The Little
Yellow Boat
Eric and I (Emmy) sailed NATARAJA under the
Golden Gate bridge on 1 Sept 2007, made a left turn and headed down the coast.
E&e's World Tour officially began. We took our time exploring California's coast
and Channel Islands before crossing the border into Mexico. It took us a month
to work our way down Baja's Pacific coast. We then headed up into to the Sea of
Cortez but only as far as Isla San Francisco before backtracking then crossing
the sea to Mazatlan.
We spent a couple more months exploring the mainland before
setting sail on 19 March 2008 from Manzanillo to the Marquesas. On this passage
we experienced some pretty serious engine problems that eventually forced us to
rethink our plans. We did spend two and half fabulous months in the Marquesas
before setting sail for Hawaii.
After a seven week layover exploring the
Hawaiian islands, we sailed back across the Pacific and into San Francisco bay
where we have successfully preformed an engine transplant. NATARAJA now has a
brand new Beta Marine engine and we have set our next departure date for 19
March 2009. We will sail back to the Marquesas, pick up where we left off and
continue with our world tour
You'll want to check out the "E-mails From a
Broad" section for the latest info on where we are, and what we're doing.
